When a person is arrested or charged for drunk driving in Colorado, he or she needs to understand the seriousness of those charges. Authorities typically pursue the toughest penalties possible. Therefore anyone in Denver facing DUI charges needs to know how to defend him or herself.

A Colorado school bus driver is facing more than 35 charges after authorities say he was drunk while transporting a high school football team. The man has now been charged with 37 counts of child abuse involving reckless endangerment for each student who was on the bus. In addition, he has been charged with careless driving, driving under the influence and four counts of reckless endangerment. No one was hurt.

According to reports, the man had a blood-alcohol level of .213, which is more than three times the legal limit in Colorado. According to passengers on the bus, the 57-year-old man was driving irregularly while bringing the team back from its game. Authorities say that the man crashed into a parked car when he arrived back at the high school.

Although the circumstances do not look good for this man, and he is facing the possibility of some severe sentencing, he still is innocent until proven guilty. This man needs an experienced DUI attorney in order to build the best defense possible. The right attorney could help him at the very least get the charges reduced. Anyone facing similar charges in the Denver area should probably speak with a defense attorney who specializes in DUI cases sooner rather than later.
