Colorado Rockies co-owner arrested for possible DUI

There are a lot of circumstances that can lead to a drunk driving arrest and/or charge. Sometimes things happen that are out of a person’s control. Still other times, an unfortunate set of events can lead to a person being behind the wheel of a vehicle even when he or she never intended to be. That’s why it’s important for anyone in Denver arrested for DUI to understand the legal ramifications.

Authorities arrested the co-owner of the Colorado Rockies, Charlie Monfort, recently on suspicion of driving under the influence. Mr. Monfort was arrested in Windsor, Colorado, but no details of the arrest were given. It was not reported why Mr. Monfort was pulled over or if he was given a sobriety and/or a Breathalyzer test. Likewise, authorities did not say if they found any alcohol in Mr. Monfort’s possession or in his vehicle.

According to reports, Mr. Monfort did release a statement to apologize to the team, his family and fans of the Colorado Rockies. In his statement Mr. Monfort said: "I do understand the seriousness of my behavior and the issues that I am facing and I'm committed to do what's necessary to deal with my problem."

Although Mr. Monfort was arrested, that doesn’t necessarily mean he is guilty. There are several unanswered questions about the arrest that may still need to be resolved, including whether or not officers followed proper procedure in pulling Mr. Monfort over and what evidence they may or may not have. Speaking with an experienced DUI attorney is good idea for anyone in this type of situation.
