A Proven Criminal Defense Team

Warm in January: once again, DUI enforcement heat brought to bear

You know the drill, of course.

We suspect that virtually every Colorado motorist has grown closely attuned to the ramped-up police efforts to spot, arrest and criminally convict drunk drivers that regularly feature across the state.

We occasionally spotlight those initiatives at the Denver DUI defense law firm of Shazam Kianpour & Associates, P.C. In fact, we recently did so in a January 9 blog entry that noted heightened statewide stings and enforcement operations that occur like clockwork “during holidays and other major events.”

Truth be told, those recurring campaigns are conducted even during periods that aren’t closely linked with any particular hype or festivities.

Take the present, for example. As noted in a Colorado Patch article, state motorists are just entering the final phase of what is simply an “end of January” blitz that ushered in the first of 14 “Heat Is On” drives that are scheduled throughout 2018.

You can take that “drive” reference both figuratively and literally; law enforcers have been — as always — combining resources across myriad state and local agencies to get high numbers of troopers and officers out on Colorado roadways to nab drunk drivers.

It is hardly facetious to say that, given the essentially non-stop DUI campaigns that occur across Colorado, the most apt descriptor for the initiative might reasonably be “The Heat is Always On.”

And when it is, drivers truly need to take heed of the rising regulatory thermometer. Reportedly, the 10-day effort just now concluding involved nearly 120 state, city and local agencies employing tactics ranging from saturation patrols to sobriety checkpoints.

Drivers can easily find themselves in need of timely and aggressive legal representation. A proven Denver DUI defense attorney can readily provide it.
