Sheriff's deputy allegedly intoxicated at work, gets arrested

If you've been enjoying the benefits of a good, strong drink for a number years, it' easy to underestimate just how intoxicated you are. The human body builds up a remarkable tolerance to alcohol, leaving many individuals who are legally impaired believing that they are perfectly fine to operate a vehicle or engage in other activities. In fact, it can happen to just about anyone.

Recently, a sheriff's deputy over in Arapahoe County was arrested and subsequently suspended without pay after some of his colleagues noticed that he was exhibiting signs of intoxication while at work. Roughly one hour after the deputy began his shift, a co-worker smelled alcohol on his breath. By that time, the deputy had already engaged in some dangerous activities, transporting an inmate in an official police vehicle and carrying his issued firearm.

After submitting to a blood test, the deputy was found to be above the legal limit for a DUI and was arrested. Upon being processed, the deputy was sent home and suspended without pay.

Even if you think that you're okay to drive after a few drinks, you may not be. It is always a risk to get behind the wheel if you know that you've been drinking. Of course, if you do get pulled over or arrested, it is important to remember that you have rights that deserve to be protected.

No matter what your drunk driving situation may be, you should not hesitate to seek representation from an experienced attorney. With proper legal guidance, you can ensure that your case is heard fairly and that your rights are not violated.
