Free downtown Denver parking this Friday night

What's the catch? There are only 30 parking spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone can park in the Last Call Lots at 2060 Larimer St. any time after 6 p.m. on the next two Friday nights. As long as they retrieve their vehicle before 10 the next morning, there's no charge for parking.

CDOT's director communication says the idea is to help people have safe fun downtown without fear of getting a DUI. Anyone who makes use of Last Call parking also gets a $20 Lyft voucher for an inexpensive ride home.

The chief of the Colorado State Patrol said officers know people are trying to cram as much fun as they can into the last few weekends of summer, "but that's no excuse to act irresponsibly and drive impaired."

CDOT also wanted to remind people that last year, 1,321 people were arrested for driving under the influence. Last Call Lots might be able to help you avoid becoming part of this year's total. And the price is definitely right on the money: free.
