Sometimes people have very public professions. Whether they are a famous celebrity, a politician or an athlete, people sometimes get pulled into the spotlight because of alleged criminal behavior. Although media might sometimes present a person as guilty, and not follow up on whether the person is actually convicted, everyone is entitled to a fair trial.

Recent charges against Denver Nuggets star, Ty Lawson, have now been dropped. According to a report the prosecutor in the case dropped the charges “in the interest of justice.” This could mean that the prosecutor wasn’t able to gather any or enough evidence to prove that the man did anything wrong.

Sometimes police arrest people in situations that might seem chaotic. After the arrest, they will question the person and work with other investigators to try to build evidence to convict that person. Police might even act like they will make a deal with the person in exchange for their honesty. This can result in a person making incriminating statements, hoping to put a situation behind them.

Speaking with an experienced criminal defense attorney might be a wise decision for anyone who is arrested in the Denver area. They can help a person form a rigorous defense against domestic violence charges, while at the same time respecting the sensitive nature of such a situation. An attorney can be with the person while they are being questioned, and help them understand the court process. If the person is convicted, an attorney can also help file an appeal.
