Former baseball great arrested for DUI

Hall of Fame catcher, Carlton Fisk, was recently arrested for DUI after police reportedly found him passed out in his pickup truck in a corn field. Police stated that the engine of the truck was still running when they found the former baseball star.

When police awoke Fisk, he was purportedly disoriented. According to the police report, Fisk declined a blood alcohol test and had an open 1.75 liter bottle in the truck.

The police apparently took Fisk to the hospital where he was treated, and he was then released from jail after posting bail. Fisk has been charged with improper lane use and illegal transport of alcohol.

The Ford truck that he was driving reportedly had a flat tire. Police surmised that this was the result of Fisk driving the truck through a ditch. Otherwise, there appeared to be no damage to the truck.

Humiliating though this incident probably was for someone that had so much success upon the baseball field, no one was hurt in the incident. Yet incidents like this occur every day and can have consequences concerning every aspect of a suspect’s life. On the other hand, often such incidents are a one-time situation, and the individual arrested is able to then get on with his or her life.

For this reason, it’s always a good idea to consult with an attorney experienced in defending those charged with DUIs. Lawyers can attempt to minimize the damage this kind of incident can have on one’s personal life, and sometimes these professionals can help the arrested individual cope with whatever personal issues they happen to be dealing with.
