Brooke Mueller’s Colorado drug arrest leads to lenient sentence

Back in December, we published a post about a celebrity drug arrest in Colorado. It seems as though Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s ex and the mother of his twins, has a hard time avoiding legal hardship when she is in the state. The previous post indicated that Mueller faced criminal charges of assault and cocaine possession.

Mueller was arrested in Colorado after a woman claimed that she was assaulted by the celebrity ex. The Aspen Times reports that authorities found cocaine in Mueller’s wallet in the midst of taking her into custody. That drama seems to have come to an end, with the sentencing for the cocaine possession charge set and Mueller reportedly in a positive place.

Mueller pleaded guilty to the drug charge as part of a plea deal that would give her the chance to avoid the conviction staying on her criminal record. If she stays sober and behaves over the course of the next year, Mueller will get the benefit of putting the cocaine possession incident completely behind her. She must stay sober and put in 24 hours of community service to live up to her end of the plea deal.

During her sentencing hearing, the judge was satisfied to hear how passionate Mueller is about her recovery from drug and alcohol use and her focus on being a good mother to her twins. Sheen did not use the drug arrest as reason to try to take away Mueller’s custody rights, and her responsibility over her kids seems to be an effective motivation for Mueller to get past her troubles.
