Denver rolls out campaign as legalization of pot grows near

At the start of next year, which is just a few weeks away, marijuana will be legal in Colorado for recreational use. However, many people in Denver are probably wondering what this all means for them. Whether or not you are a proponent of marijuana legalization or not, the law must be implemented properly and people must comply with the law. The City of Denver has rolled out a new website, www.MarijuanaInfoDenver.org, to try to inform the public of the laws regarding marijuana sales and use.

According to a report, Denver will work to implement Amendment 64 without disrupting the lifestyle of people who didn't support legalization.

Marijuana laws will be similar to those which regulate alcohol. It is illegal to drive while under the influence of marijuana, and people are not going to be allowed to smoke marijuana in public places.

While these laws might seem simple, smoking marijuana will be treated differently than smoking a cigarette, and some people might misinterpret the law when it is first implemented. violating the law could result in legal action. Speaking with an experienced criminal defense attorney in Denver might be a wise decision if someone is charged with a crime or arrested for a marijuana related offense. Since marijuana is still illegal under federal law it is unclear how the federal government could act to regulate marijuana once the law is implemented here in Colorado. Despite the federal government saying it would ignore the recreational sale of marijuana in Colorado, it has made moved in recent weeks to investigate marijuana related allegations.
