A Proven Criminal Defense Team

Denver Broncos executive arrested for alleged drunk driving

When someone is arrested for a drunk driving charge, they might think that their job won’t be affected, or that the situation will disappear and not draw attention. However, sometimes just accusations of drunk driving can hurt a person’s reputation, especially if they are employed in a very public role, where personal and public lives can sometimes mix.

A Denver Broncos executive was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) over the weekend. Police say Matt Russell, the director of player personnel for the team was arrested after hitting two cars, including a police car near Breckenridge.

Speaking with an experienced criminal defense attorney who handles drunk driving cases in Denver might be a wise decision before answering questions from authorities. Despite telling a person that they might be able to come up with a deal, police often don’t have the ability to negotiate anything after a person has been charged.

An attorney can help a person understand the charges that they might face and how those charges might impact their career. It is important for a person to understand the impact that charges might have, and that they take all criminal charges seriously.

While not everyone is in a public facing position in their career, a criminal conviction, no matter how small it might seem, can hurt a person’s ability to find new employment, or might result in them needing to explain a conviction. This can be embarassing and make the hiring process very difficult. When a person understands their rights and the court process, they can better receive a fair trial.
