During the last month, Denver police authorities claim to have seized $40,000 worth of hydroponic marijuana and $700 in cocaine from a Denver residence. It is claimed that the marijuana seized was the type grown in water rather than soil. Deputies also claimed to have seized a variety of prescription pills, two vehicles and more than $2,000 in cash. The individuals charged were 20 and 22-years old.

The 20-year old faces felony counts for the supposed possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana. This individual also faces charges concerning the alleged maintaining of a resident for use in dealing with a controlled substance. He also faces various misdemeanor charges and was being held on $15,000 bond.

The 22-year old faces felony counts for reportedly trafficking heroin and being in possession of a number of controlled substances. He also faces a misdemeanor count regarding possession of drug paraphernalia and was being held on $25,000 bond.

All of these allegations reported in the local newspapers likely came from allegations contained in the police report. Too often, newspapers report such matters as facts when nothing has actually been proven in court. Police officers are attempting to make a case and will thus word what they claim occurred in this manner.

Clients charged with crimes may be intimidated by all of the publicity. With so much at stake in a matter like the one mentioned above, this is extremely understandable. Here we have two extremely young adults looking at years of imprisonment and the seizure of thousands of dollars of property. A visit with a criminal defense attorney can help individuals such as these put matters into perspective and provide a realistic picture of what they are facing.
