SHAZAM KIANPOUR: Theft, ID theft, forgery, fraud, credit card fraud, embezzlement. These are the new hot topic crimes that are taking over this state. And the district attorney's office takes them very seriously.
Most charges involving embezzlement are felonies. What does that mean to you? It means that if you're convicted of this felony, you can go to prison. If you want to get a loan, if you want to get student aid, financial aid, if you want to go out there and get good housing or maybe buy a home, it's going to be tough to do it with a felony on your record. Not only are they a felony on your record, but they tell someone else that they supposedly can't trust you.
Unlike other crimes, economic crimes, there's usually not a full picture for the policeman to see. They need to finish their puzzle by talking to you.
The bottom line is if the police want to speak to you, you want to talk to us first. Contact us and consult us. We'll guide you down that road. We're there to protect you. You have rights and we need to invoke them immediately.
