Ms. Rikeman began studying at Colorado State University as a pre-veterinarian major before realizing she had a calling to the law. She changed majors to Political Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude, in the top 10% of her class. While attending CSU, she had the opportunity to intern with a member of Parliament in London, England, gaining valuable insight in international politics. Ms. Rikeman attended law school at the nationally ranked University of Texas at Austin where she competed in multiple mock trial and moot court competitions and was a national finalist in 2002. Her training for criminal defense work began at the University of Texas when she participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic and the Juvenile Justice Clinic where she tried her first felony cases. She graduated with honors and moved back to her native state of Colorado where she began work at the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
